MILLION STARS OF HOPE
“Million Stars of Hope” is a multi-faceted public awareness, advocacy and fundraising campaign created to better our community and help victims of child sexual abuse and exploitation. It’s time we come together, joining other community organizations, and unite to take a shared ownership of this social problem. We as a community are “it” and are the voice of the victims.
The Children's Alliance of Hawaii is expanding our role to increase advocacy for the prevention of sexual abuse of children through:
• Heightening public awareness
• Revisiting laws and penalties
• Improving enforcement of laws and penalties
• Increasing resources for rehab of victims of sexual abuse
To do this, we need your help in establishing a $1,000,000 endowment fund that will create a sustainable source of income for our advocacy efforts.
Join your fellow community members and declare your concern and opposition to child sexual abuse by becoming a “Star of Hope”. Together we will:
• Break down the taboo of child sexual abuse
• Give voice to our keiki victims.
• Protect our children.
• Seek the greatest possible justice for our keiki.
• Encourage and support victims to come forward and seek help.
• Send a message to child molesters that child sexual abuse stops now.
• Educate our fellow citizens about this horrible problem.
• Advocate for system improvements to help our keiki and prioritize this most important cause!
• Help perpetuate and ensure the future for The Children’s Alliance of Hawaii and its programs to help heal our cherished keiki.
Our goal is to counteract our children’s dark despair with a brilliant light of hope brought out by a million concerned and caring people.
To help The Children’s Alliance ensure its future and that of its programs and advocacy efforts, we ask that you make a contribution at the amount you can comfortably give. Every dollar raised and every person who joins will represent a “Star of Hope” and help us reach our goal of one million stars. Our strength to make change is in our numbers and our conviction to end this problem. Please join now! Our keiki need you.

2008 MERCEDES-BENZ DEALER CHAMPIONSHIP
The Mercedes-Benz Dealer Championship event brought in just under $10,000, which will be used to help fund our programs and services.
Mahalo nui to Fletcher Jones III and the gang at Mercedes Benz. We greatly appreciated the generous donation!
“MERCEDES”

On April 16, 2008, Mercedes Benz of Honolulu generously hosted an exclusive cocktail party on its luxury yacht "Mercedes" as an incentive to encourage Mahealani table sponsorship sales of $5,000 or more. This was the last party to take place on the beautiful ship before her return to the mainland. Those who took advantage of the special opportunity had a first class experience that only Mercedes Benz of Honolulu could create. Many thanks to AnneMarie and Fletcher Jones, III for their creativity and continued support.

ESCADA FASHION LUNCHEON
For the second year in a row, the Children's Alliance of Hawaii was the fortunate beneficiary of Escada Hawaii's annual fashion luncheon. The March 7, 2008 event offered the "by invite only" guests a stylish afternoon of lunching on delicious fare, sipping champagne and viewing the latest Escada fashions. Oh yes, and lots of shopping! Mahalo to Escada Hawaii General Manager Mariese Montano-Smith and her team for their efforts and generosity.

UMBRELLA PAINTING

On a sunny Saturday in February 2008, 15 budding artists joined teacher Dr. Lori Phillips at Kapiolani Park, to create unique masterpieces. With determination and inspiration, blank umbrella canvases were transformed into beautiful flowers, awe-inspiring sea creatures, glorious garden scenes and flirtatious fish. These one-of-a-kind creations were made available to the highest bidder at the 2008 Mahealani event. We thank our "resident artists" for their creativity and enthusiasm.

CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE

On December 14, 2007, the Children's Alliance of Hawiai hosted its inaugural Christmas Holiday Open House. Our office was beautifully decorated and full of the Holiday Spirit. Many of the work areas were overflowing with hundreds of wrapped gifts for the Christmas Angels Project. Guest assisted with decorations by writing a special childhood memory on cut-out ornaments and hanging it on beautiful and elaborately decorated Christmas trees. After touring the new office space and learning about our programs and projects, guests were treated to a delicious assortment of holiday treats. We hope you will be able to join us this year!
