Strengthening Parents
Many parents of sexually abused children are equally traumatized by their child’s experiences. They often have feelings of shame, guilt and confusion over the trauma experienced by their children. They don’t understand what will happen in the criminal prosecution process of the alleged perpetrator. They’re not sure how to handle the behavior of their children after the incident.
Our Strengthening Parents program assists parents with enhancing communication skills with their child, gaining insights regarding the multiple and complex issues of child sex abuse and its impact on family members, and developing needed support and resources through bi-monthly group discussions.
